Ultimate Guide to Hamilton Groups to Check Out at Supercrawl
Supercrawl is around the corner and brings the best of musical and visual performances, fashion showcases, theatre, readings and talks to Hamilton.
From September 9 to 11, the festival takes over James Street North for a weekend of fun.
Here is a list of local groups that you should definitely check out:
Burlington folk-pop singer and environmental activist Sarah Harmer stops by Hamilton during her month-long ‘Are You Gone’ tour for Supercrawl. Fans can enjoy Harmer’s concert Sunday from 6:45-8 p.m. on the TD Stage.
Hamilton’s Golden Feather take over the TD Stage Sunday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Be sure to catch the alternative rock band with Brad Germain on guitar and lead vocals, Ronson Armstrong on bass, lead guitarist Chris Wheeler and Gareth Inkster on keys – backed by Monster Truck drummer Steve Kiely, on a side project with the band.
The dirty nothingness
The Juno-winning rock band are expected to bring in a fun crowd of fans after playing a sold-out Bridgeworks show in April. Find Luke Bentham, leader and guitarist of The Dirty Nil, drummer Kyle Fisher and bassist Sam Tomlinson Friday on the TD stage from 11:30 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.
The Hamilton Barettas, a trio of sisters from Hamilton with songs influenced by ’60s girl groups, will be on the Exclaim stage on Saturday from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
The country-boogie-sounding local quintet promises an electric show at Supercrawl to show they’re proud to be from Hamilton. Discover Graham Peacefull and Joey Balducchi on vocals and guitar, John Edwards on banjo, Gabe Atkinson on bass and Josh Snively on drums. All of this happens on Sundays on the Exclaim stage from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The Hamilton band recently released their 12-track debut album ‘The Words You Spoke Still Move Me’ at Bridgeworks in May. Vocalist Nabi Sue Bersche, guitarist Tyler Bersche and keyboardist/bassist Elliott Gwynne will perform Supercrawl Saturday on the TD Stage from 7-8 p.m.
The four-piece band consisting of Aleef Mehdi, Jinu Isac, Ben Duff and Jeremy Hucal define their sound as groovy and meaningful. The band will entertain the crowd on the Exclaim stage on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Sarah good and the bad guys
Defining themselves as “baroque velvet with ferral awe and dark metal with a flower petal,” Sarah Good & The Bads will bring soothing, distorted melodies to Supercrawl. The band plays on the Exclaim stage on Sundays from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Queen Cee with GSSO and Duckai
Singer and community activist Queen Cee, aka Queen Dollylama, brings her soulful and R&B sounds with house and dance with guests GSSO and Duckai. They take over the Exclaim stage on Fridays from 11:30 p.m. to 12:45 a.m.
Hamilton Children’s Choir and Hamilton Philharmonic Brass Quintet
Don’t miss the Hamilton Children’s Choir on Saturdays on the TD Stage from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. and the HPO Brass Quintet on Sundays on the TD Stage from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.
