Lewis Miller is the florist leaving Random Flower Arrangements all over New York City

Spring is finally upon us: the leaves are changing, the world is returning to its colors, and thanks to the work of Lewis Miller, New York City is even brighter and more beautiful than the season suggests. Miller is the florist responsible for the recent surge of “Flower Flashes” in the city, a series of elaborate flower arrangements that have appeared in places ranging from city landmarks, like Central Park, to more unexpected places, like a trash can. The arrangements became popular on social media, with passers-by being caught off guard by the surprise installations and posting the evidence on Instagram and elsewhere.

Miller, whose Lewis Miller Designs is best known for wedding and party arrangements, took to floral pop-ups late last year. In a blog post at the time, he described his concept of “Flowers for the People,” explaining, “Giving flowers to the people of New York. It’s a simple idea that I’ve had in my brain for years. I love my job and what we do at LMD. We have created many lavish and memorable events for our wonderful clients who not only stay with them and their guests for years to come, but have also left us with a smile and an impression over the years. We are in the field of fantasy and flowers; transforming key moments in our clients’ lives into magical and everlasting memories. “

The project began when Miller and his team placed more than 2,000 flowers at the John Lennon Memorial in Central Park. They were delighted with the response when strangers stopped dead to appreciate the arrangement. “That was my goal, my vision. To create an emotional response through flowers. And in the age of social media, we saw the fruits of our labor and were instantly rewarded via Instagram. We got to see how our idea translated into real time with hundreds of selfies and photographs documenting the flowers throughout the day. It was one of the most rewarding and rewarding ‘events’ I have ever had, “said Miller. Her efforts have intensified since then, with Miller never revealing a Flower Flash location in advance, keen to let the natural beauty speak for itself.

As Miller revealed Vogue, there are no plans to slow down. He told the point of sale: “I don’t see us stopping anytime soon. These flashes are so rewarding and rewarding on so many levels. There is something ‘Banksy-esque’ about what we do, that is fun and exciting. ”Fun and exciting for all of us.
